Like, randomly

Some random thoughts of the day.

You like her but you know you’re unable to give her happiness. This kinda feelings suck. I mean nothing can be done since I don’t want to hurt anyone.

But, what is like? As defined by Google, to like is to prefer or to be fond of. But how sure are you that you’re fond of him/her? What in him/her that caused the preference?

How about liking a pretty lady? Sometimes on the streets we’ll hear people say, “Wow, I like her man!”. But when you think about what they said, do you think they really like her and not her looks?

I feel that (some) pretty ladies on the streets are just eye candies. This comes from inside me.

I’ve got quite high expectations of the girl I want to marry. The reason is simple. I’ve got a wonderful mother who is capable of almost everything under the sun. She can cook, bake, clean, manage, etc. Not only that, she’s a walking dictionary and encyclopedia. I’m sure throughout the year, the 4 fridges/freezers at home are never empty; always filled with ingredients to cook/bake.

To find a girl who’s pretty and is as capable as my mum, is it that easy? Not hard, but not easy too. Definitely I won’t want to marry a pretty girl who cannot do any chores. Neither do I want a girl who looks so bad that my appetite might be affected. (Heh?)

Google defines pretty as pleasing by delicacy or grace; not imposing. I don’t understand what’s meant by that, seriously. But I’ve got my own set of thinkings coz’ beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. Just for example, a pretty girl don’t have to be as fair as snow (as described in fairytales).

Where are you, my angel?

Camp Pack List: MUST-BRING-ITEMS

After the previous prep camp held by SMIT Club, I noticed that there are some things I needed during the camp but forgot to bring. For some items, I decided that I might not need them, thus I put them 1 side.

Here’s the MUST-bring items for camps.

  1. Torch light
If you’re staying over at the camp site for the night, a torch will do you good. There might be activities at night (after the sun sets) that requires your torch. Be it finding paths or reading sheets of papers. Some camp sites (like Singapore Polytechnic) off their lights at night after 12am. I’m sure you will need a torch to find your way to the toilet
  2. Blanket or Sleeping bag
Unless you’re fine with sleeping on the carpets or floor, please bring a sleeping bag. A sleeping bag will keep you warm at night too, especially when you’re sleeping in a room with air conditioner (You may not be able to adjust the temperature).
  3. Insect repellent
It’s advised that you bring an insect repellent if you’re prone to mosquito bites.
  4. Toiletries & Personal Items
Toothbrush is a must for everyone I believe. As for tooth paste, facial wash, shower foam and shampoo, don’t expect others to bring it and so you can share. If everyone’s thinking that the others will bring and they don’t have to bring, then you’ll end up with no body foam/shampoo for shower.
  5. Towels
How are you going to dry yourself without a towel?

Your guide to bringing less undergarments to camps

On SMIT Club’s Forum, I gave a dumb excuse for not being able to carry heavy bags and I asked if I could bring less undergarments for the school camp. For the 4 days 3 nights camp, bringing only 2 pcs.

Day 1: Wearing one to camp
Day 2: Flip day 1’s underwear and wear it.
Day 3: Wear Second piece
Day 4: Flip day 3’s underwear and wear it.

I only need to bring 1 piece in my bag. 1 more for backup.

I asked if I can do it that way and here’s the suggestions/replies I got.

“Aiya, i’ve been to 7 day camps wearing just 3 pairs. I’m sure you’ll be fine, but bring powder. =)”
- Jonathan Samraj

“Have some hygine, bring disposable ones.”
- Nathaniel (Adolf commented: Disposable. What if it rains… opps..)

“Bring a bar of soap.. i’ve seen student union washed their undies during camp..”
- Brandon

“Or jus get pampers….. settle everything…..”
- Darren Quek (This is what Darren does during camps.)

“Wear G-String. more Space, more Air, increased re usability… and very comfortable..”
- Ikhwan

Dun wear anything DA BEST, no worries! :D”
- Shi Qi (SQ)

Campers, we’ve got seniors giving advice here.
