My family don’t understand me; I’m very upset.

I’m really very sad. Very disappointed with my family.
Let’s put it this way. I’m from a Malaysian (Johor) family but I study in Singapore. I’m very happy on weekdays I live at the hostel. I got to live my own life without much limitations. Back home, I’ve got to stick to a 7am wake up life. Dad works early, so we have to eat breakfast early. That’s why I’m always needing sleep during weekends.
I was scolded for sleeping late and not having enough sleep and looking like a drug addict. If only I’m so stupid to indulge myself in drugs; purely not my style. I don’t know why my parents cannot understand that I perform better during late nights when it’s quieter and peaceful and when no one makes any noise. Or maybe it’s because not everyone has an early-wake-up-lifestyle like mine.
How about my recent building reusable components (brcom) assignment? I just don’t understand what teacher taught. Tell me I didn’t listen in class, but they all sound so foreign. I’ve already tried my best sourcing for tutorials online, reading textbooks and asking around but nothing helped much. The only way I can go about doing, is by understanding it myself and my partner.
My parents also spend time doing other unimiportant stuffs and that I should prioritise. God’s sake. I’m in poly and I’m sure there’s more than just studying I can do. Perhaps blogging is another thing I waste time doing - No, I’m very happy maintaining my blog. felixker.com is just like my home. Somewhere not myself, but my feelings reside.
Besides the current assignment I’m trying to complete, I’ve still got two (three)Â other assignments on hand. All are due end of July. So much work, so little time.
I just hope my parents can understand me better. Many things are just beyond my control.

Singapore Polytechnic Students’ Union Reform Initiative

Hi,
A campus wide campaign within Singapore Polytechnic, which aims to
raise student awareness in Students’ Union affairs. Volunteers of the
initiative will work with the Polytechnic Administration, Students’
Union Council and general student body to improve the situation in SP
Students’ Union today. A list of objectives are listed below.
Campaign Logo Design Themed “Where’s SPSU?”
Objectives
1. To promote transparency and awareness in Students’ Election.
2. To promote fairness in decision making among constituent clubs in
the Union Council.
3. To ensure students’ voices and concerns are communicated to the
Union Council.
4. To foster a sense of belonging and unity among students and clubs
towards the Union.
5. To educate students about their responsibilities and rights, in the Union.

Any companies need interns for IT Students

The ’silent’ protest over royalty hike

Yesterday (26th June 2007, US time) was the Day Of Silence for thousands of webcasters in the US. I tuned into 1.fm’s Top 40 online radio but the same lines were repeated for at least 30 minutes and that was when I found out that today (yesterday) is “Day Of Silence”!
On Tuesday, June 26, thousands of U.S.-based webcasters plan to turn off the music and go silent in a unified effort to draw attention to an impending royalty rate increase that, if implemented, would lead to the virtual shutdown of this country’s Internet radio industry.
“Silence” may occur if extremely-high royalty rates are going to be charged. Most webcasters will go bankrupt if there’s a royalty hike. It’s that bad! I don’t think there’s anything much I can do coz I’m not in the states. But bloggers, please spread the word and let the whole world know. Don’t let music die!
