Something random

I started calling myself Felix Ker few years back. I think was in 2002 or 2003. I saw a name called Felix on TV and I thought the name was cool. Thats how I started calling myself.

I was random, so I googled “felix ker”.

Personalized Results 1 - 100 of about 403,000 for felix ker. (0.29 seconds)

I’m amazed. I remember that there was only around 400 search results years back when I only had a little website at geocities!

Google grown alot. I’ve grown too. =)

I miss blogging!

I spent my whole day at work looking at codes. Php codes, HTML codes and peeping at Gary’s screen full of C#! Not only that, I saw how Junze tried to hang the server!

You’re not going to know what I do everyday at work. All you have to know is I’m reading codes everyday.

I don’t know how much time I will have for blogging when I start to work overtime. But for now, I will only blog at night.

Just to update you alittle, I’m working on a plugin for Wordpress. Not a new idea, but an enhancement to a plugin. Be patient, it’ll be out soon.

I’m going to take a rest. Tomorrow will be another ordinary day, I hope.

Cyberville vs Twinco

I’ve not been writing anything for the past 2 days! When I wanted to blog, like last night, the host was down. Damn.

Today is my second day at work as an Intern. I must say that all my colleagues are fine and very nice people. When people are nice to you, you should be nice to them. Vice versa. I’ve just met my (our - includes Gary and Junze) supervisor. And above that, I’ve met my project supervisor. Glad to say I’m assigned with something to work on!

I’ve been working 3 years at Twinco Far East (JB) and I shall do alittle comparism.

Colleagues

Colleagues in both companies are nice. They’re all rather friendly I’d say!

Overtime

Ok, this is serious matter. Twinco staffs seldom work overtime unless it’s year end stock/inventory count. If there’s overtime, boss will buy you dinner! (Drinks included!)

As for Cyberville, I heard that as long as there are projects, you’re going to have overtime. And sad, I’m not paid for overtime.  If I work until 9, I can claim dinner! If until 10pm, free cab home! Ha. I HEARD COLLEAGUES WORKED UNTIL 2AM ON A SUNDAY! And, Wei Liang once worked until 7am the next day. Gosh.

Working hours

I may have covered this above. At Twinco, we start work at 8.30am sharp and knock off at 6pm on weekdays. Weekends, we work from 8.30 but end 2 hours earlier than usual - at 4pm.

At Cyberville, it’s okay you reach the company alittle later after 9. Maybe 9.15 but not later than 9.30. Ofcourse if you worked overtime the night before, it’s okay for you to arrive alittle later. Did I mention 5-day-week?

Work

At Cyberville, I get to do programming daily.

At Twinco, I’m stuck with different kind of work such as admin, store-work, etc!

Verdict

I’m only an intern at Cyberville. Whereas at Twinco Far East, I’m a perm staff.  The only difference is the kind of work I do.

Working at different environments is cool!
