It’s another working day. Everyday is a working day except public holidays and Sundays.
His Nokia 6280 rings at 7am sharp, followed by a snooze at 7.06am. At 7.10, he’ll stop the 6280 from making anymore noise. Next, his Nokia 6030 performs the same function at 7.15am. Usually, at 7.15, the alarm will be snoozed until 7.25 when he feels it’s time to wake up for work. He’ll check his 6280 for important messages received while he’s asleep. He’ll always hope to read messages from his beloved girl and that’ll brighten his day up.
He’ll take his shower, brush his teeth, dry his hair and apply some gum/wax. Since both gum and wax gives the same effect, he’ll use them on different days. Without fail, the laptop’s LCD screen will be lifted up to look at the emails received at night. Usually, only important emails will be entertained before work (e.g. server downtime report).
He’ll walk into the office at around 9am, which is straight after breakfast. If there’s someone at the reception, he’ll check if he’s well served before heading to his office to put down his bag and jacket. On the way, he’ll smile and say greet his fellow colleagues.
As part of the store team, ofcourse he’ll be situated at the store. A round will be made around the store to ensure that things are in place and not messy. As he makes his round, he’ll greet his colleagues Ah Keat, æ–‡ç« å“¥å“¥, å°äº‘å§å§, 阿弟, etc.
He’ll work in the store, ensure things are fine. Just like any other staff, he’ll do what they do. Periodically, he’ll go over to the reception to observe his colleagues serve customers. He hope to help improve the way things work.
He’ll do his emails and read his news/blog feeds (few hundred updates daily). If he’s got nothing to do infront of his laptop, he’ll be at the store helping out with everything he can.
It’s 12pm. Half the day is over. He’ll have lunch with his auntie and cousin who works in the building. Sometimes, other colleagues will join too. During lunch, they’ll bitch about people, chit-chat and laugh.
Work resumes after lunch. There’s no official tea break in the company as there’s no cafeteria nearby. At any time, staffs are allowed to make tea, coffee or cocoa to drink while they work.
Work ends at 6pm. The day is over; everyone is very tired. Those who drove will drive home and for those who didn’t, their friends/spouse/colleagues will be fetching them.
Usually he’ll be dining at home if his mum cooked. If not, he’ll have dinner outside with his family. Dinner is usually served at around 7pm.
He’ll take his shower at around 8pm after the drama serial ends. What has to be done, will be done before 9pm before he watches another drama at 9pm.
Emails are done again before he goes to bed. There is no exact time – ranging from 11pm to 1am. Depending on the amount of work he has to do before he goes to bed and the number of MSN chats he has for the night.
Lights will be turned off and the radio will be played at a very soft volume, just enough to break the complete silence. He’ll send a text message (SMS) to his beloved girl before he ends the day (night).
He hopes to brighten her day (tomorrow) and he hopes she’ll brighten his day!
