You think it’s your right to park your car infront of your own house? Don’t think again -Â just pay the fine and you’ll be fine.
So there’s this case of a man living at Katong who thought that parking infront of his own house is his right. And he got two summons for parking infront of his own house. Appeals to the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) failed. Even the papers wrote “So why not just pay the fine?”
He turned it into a court case but again he lost the case. Instead of having the fines waived, he paid around $10, 000 fighting the case. Not to mention he had to take time off to meet his lawyer and to go to court for the trial! Is it worth the time and money?
My advise
Gahmen give you summon, you pay. Then you learn from your mistake and don’t do it again.
Don’t know what’s going on? Check things out then take actions. If you think you’re right, then go appeal. If it doesn’t work, just pay the fine.
If you didn’t watch the movie Just Follow Law, go get yourself a copy of the DVD. Jack Neo always teach the right things.
And remember, the government is always right. Your only right is to vote. Now, get back to work or you’ll lose your job and there’ll be no chance to appeal.

William Shakespeare~ But soft what light through yonder window breaks It is the east and Juliet is the sun.
Jesus loves you, but everyone else thinks you’re an idiot!
Joyce~ Trust your hunches. Theyre usually based on facts filed away just below the conscious level.
They’re not. They’re only right in this instance.
I am trying to convey: The government is always right.
I don’t see what’s wrong with the summons. Fact is, he doesn’t own the land in front of his own house. The state does. So he has to comply with the rules set by the state about parking on state land. Everyone has a right to do what they want on their own property. But they don’t have a right to do what they want on other people’s property.
