Today, the 999th spam was caught by Akismet.

Akismet is a wonderful anti-spamming plug-in that learns what is considered spam and what isn’t. Best of all, it supports almost any application with submitted content including contact forms, forums, wiki & blog.

Ever since I start let Akismet filter my blog’s comments & trackbacks, I saved myself lots of time having to delete them myself. However, there were times that Akismet failed to recognize spam messages that were considered new,  but I sent them back to the moderation queue for another round of spam check (and they were eradicated). Heh, Akismet learns fast!

Currently I’m not getting enough from my sponsors to get myself a pro-blogger API key, but I hope in the near future I can contribute to the development of Akismet.

Great job, Automattic! Automattic has great reputation on the net for developing other projects such as WordPress, bbPress, Sidebar Widgets for WordPress, etc!

Once again, thanks Akismet!

Where can I find Akismet specifically for bbPress? I’ve had no luck.
