You fail to understand the mere fact that the Potter series are not just children books. I hope that you realize that there is a lot of death and destruction in these novels. In the last installment, there are atleast a dozen deaths that we witness. Theres also a scene where a snake erupts from the neck of a dead women who has been used as a puppet. It's very grafic. There are also allusions to realy life events and mythology, but I guess that would be too deep for people that consider the books to be childish. Literary discussions are held about these books and the speculation and theories pre-Deathly Hallows were amazing. They do take a lot of intellect and thought. There are important lessons to be learned about love, power, good vs. evil, choices, and life in general. One should read something before judging it.
