After spending some time browsing through the official website for Expo 2010 Shanghai China, I got more understanding about whats going on.

After spending 5 days touring places of interest in SuZhou, HangZhou and YiWu, we’re back in Shanghai for more fun! Later in the afternoon, we’re finally going to visit the Expo. It’s planned that we’re only going for the late afternoon until night time. I don’t know if this is sufficient or not actually – will update after visiting!

It’s almost impossible for us to finish visiting all the pavilions this time. The total surface area is over 5km². That’s really huge.

If you have visited the Expo, are there any pavilions really worth visiting and MUST visit?

P.s. HaiBao is cute!

My apologies, this is a delayed post. Okay, now read on.

Child-story

I find ourselves very lucky. If you’re able to be here reading my blog, I’m pretty sure you’ve got a decent Internet connection and at least a computer.

Some facts inside the brochure

Child’s Name: YANG, Xiao Dong
Birthday: 16/01/04 (That makes him 4 years old!)
Photo: Cute!
Health: Satisfactory
Sibling(s): 1 brother

Xiao Dong is not in school yet. He doesn’t help out with house chores as he’s too young.

Both parents are self-employed as farmers. According to statistics, farmers (in Yongsheng, North-West Yunnan) account for 93.7% of the population. The annual per capita income is RMB 608 (US$89 on 6 Nov 08) and per capita food consumption is 397kg.

Do check out the brochure by clicking it to enlarge.

Updates

Xiao Dong actually got his senior to help him write me a letter. I’ll share it soon. Give me time to actually do the posting!

My target

I do not only want to sponsor a child. I would love to sponsor children. More and more!

Thank you for giving me some attention. Without your attention, this child won’t be sponsored. Again, I must repeat that you (readers) are part of this Sponsor a child project.

As you can read, I’m waiting for processing to be done before I finally start having a sponsored child!

Why am I doing this?

Who doesn’t want more money to spend? I would love to have more bags and more clothes but the thought of some kids that really need our help. I decided to start helping them, as much as I can.

Why am I telling you so much?

You may wonder what I do with the money I make from this blog. Not alot, but definitely enough for my hosting fees and to support a child.

As for my own living expenses, I’ve got my father to support me until I finish school.

Why World Vision?

The best thing I like about them: They “teach a child to fish, and not use my donated funds to them fishes“.

Next update.. Until I receive the welcome package from WorldVision!

It’s tonight. The finals for Miss Universe 2008 will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam. 80 contestants representing their country will compete for the Miss Universe title.

My Two Pennies Worth

I’m not going to watch the pageant, but will read news to know the winner. I don’t think the pageant is worth my time. Miss Asia is much worth my time.

No comments on Miss Malaysia. Your comments please. Ha.

Miss Malaysia Model of the World for the year 2007 is Jessie Chuah of Selangor. Congrats to her!

Jessie Chuah will represent Malaysia in the 19th Miss Model of the World 2007 International Modelling Contest in China in October and we hope she do us proud.

I’ve yet to be able to find any of her photos, but hopefully they’ll be on the Internet soon.

The Miss Malaysia Model of the World title was organised by Star Avenue Production and held in Ipoh for the fourth time.

Undergraduates Casandra Athene Patrick, 21, of Sabah and Candy Tham, 22, of Negeri Sembilan emerged the first and second runners-up respectively.
